Plastic Second Life for a sustainable environment

Plastic Second Life for a sustainable environment

Plastic Second Life, a sustainable environment is also in our hands.

Nowadays, the environmental issue is an urgent global need that cannot be ignored: the resources of our planet, which are necessary to produce and to satisfy humans’ necessities, are very limited and we can no longer close our eyes.  We must work actively for a better future: transforming our industrial scrap into recycled waste has become our priority.

Our Green commitment has come into the project “Plastic Second life”, based on the ideal to reuse plastic waste, to valorise and to return it to the productive process, giving it a continuous lifecycle.

The achievement of the PSV Certification is our win: an environmental system certification dedicated to raw materials and goods obtained by the valorisation of industrial plastic waste.

Plastic Second Life Certification

FISC becomes Green: last January 2022 we obtained Plastic Second Life Certification issued by IPPR, Institute for the Promotion of Recycled Plastic, the real supporter of the ecological plastic product.

Our goal is to minimise the environmental impact, raising the awareness of the users of our products to the theme of sustainability in order to contribute together to a better environment, without sacrificing the high-quality standards guaranteed by the structured system of environmental certification PSV, which allows to assure quality and traceability of the materials used for production.

The PSV brand has led us to be the first manufacturer in Italy in the plumbing industry to guarantee a sustainable action to the environment. PSV brand ensures recycled plastic quality, but not only: it also protects the traceability of recycled materials, respecting European regulations and provisions of the Green Procurement, including ISO 14021 standards, for environmental labels and declarations as well as UNI 10667-2 standards, for the traceability and quality of the Raw Secondary Materials.

In particular, the brand we have obtained concerns the Plastic Second Life coming from industrial waste, which certifies the recycled content and the traceability of materials, semi-finished and finished products manufactured by using from 30% to 100% of polymers derived from industrial scrap.
Consequently, we have designed the “2LIFE” range products: it represents our commitment to the environment thanks to the composition of at least 70% of industrial recycled materials.

This project has taken months of experiments, efforts and attempts to reach the sustainable desired product. We have been constantly spending time and resources looking forward to a long-term success for our future.

Recycled Plastic from industrial waste

FISC stands by the Recycled Plastic and the 4R principles of the Green Purchasing & Circular Economy.

Thanks to the PSV certification, we have turned towards to the Circular Economy. At the beginning, linear economy system led us to have large quantities of resources and energy characterised by a brief lifetime and useful to assure significant amounts of products and services to sell at competitive prices. Now, with a Circular Economy we can design a model of production and consumption aimed to minimise waste by transforming it into resources with a continuous lifecycle and by reducing our environmental impact.

The core idea of the PSV certification is the recycling from industrial waste, based on the principles of the 4R, the main concepts according to which we can guarantee materials a continuous life-cycle:

  • Reduce. In the process of sustainability, we must start from the idea of reduction, it means, from the conviction that it is necessary to use less materials for production without compromising quality and production standards.
  • Reuse. Secondly, we must orient our production system towards re-use: the image whereby we give new life to a product that has already completed its primary purpose, without being transformed, thus going hand in hand with the first concept of the circular economy.
  • Recycle. Then we must refer to the basic concept of recycling which involves the transformation of waste, the industrial waste resulting from the production of other products, into material to be used again, without recourse to new raw materials. In addition, plastic is a material that lends itself perfectly to this principle because from its reworking, the structure of the plastic material does not change and allows this type of processing many times.
  • Recovery. Last but not least, it is the recovery: fundamental phase at the end of the life cycle of the waste, because from its disposal we can obtain new secondary material or new energy, necessary and useful to the production process in general company.

Fisc Italiana PSV products

FISC stands by the environment with the new PSV certificated range products “2LIFE”.

Our commitment to a better environment finds its culmination in the creation of the “2LIFE” range products: PSV items that are generated by at least 70% of components coming from the industrial waste.

The entire Second Life line of products provides several models of siphons and wastes made of certificated recycled plastic that does not disregards quality, design and market trends. Through this type of products, we can offer simple 1-bowl-siphon or the 2-bowl-compact one with dishwasher connector, which satisfies space and practical needs. We can also offer from the classical compact manual waste to the automatic one with flexible overflow which follow all comfort and design trends.

At the basis of the promotion of a second life for plastic materials, there is a much broader reasoning that not only concerns a sustainable social action, but also a new way of manufacturers to approach our environment, taking into account that in the Planet we must satisfy the needs of its inhabitants, but at the same time maintain and guarantee a healthy, safe and clean place in which we can all live.

With our range of products “2LIFE” we want to make our future better, but also to make the users of our products sensible to an aware purchase and use of the products, in order to propose to the end-customer a sustainable cuisine that allows all of us to contribute in an active and inclusive way to environmental improvement.
