A sustainable environment is also in our hands
FISC has always had a green soul and a strong focus on the environment. In recent years, as environmental awareness has increased, we have undertaken many activities in this direction.
Environmental Certifications
Two important projects came to fruition in 2022. In fact, we obtained ISO 14001 certification for business management and, first in Italy in the plumbing articles sector, “Plastic Second Life” certification.
The former, thanks to the high level of waste collection, electrical solutions for plastic injection machines, LED lighting in production, production optimization to reduce waste, and the use of synthetic rubbers according to EU Regulation 2023/1115 (no contribution to deforestation).
A Product certification the second, for materials and products from the valorization of plastic waste, aimed at promoting the concept of quality, traceability and valorization of industrial waste and recycled materials. A line of siphons and drains designed and manufactured from certified recycled plastic raw materials with 95% of the raw material coming from industrial waste (circular economy). By the end of 2024 we have doubled! In fact, we have obtained PSV certification from SEPARATE WASTE for materials and products from polymers derived from separate collection in the percentage of 90%.
Sustainable Energy
We produce 30 percent of the electricity we need from our 493 kW photovoltaic system installed on the roof, and the portion of energy we do not produce ourselves is purchased from renewable sources through supply channels that certify the 100 percent renewable origin of energy supplied to FISC. Therefore, FISC is proud to operate with zero environmental impact.
Sustainable Packaging
We pay special attention to the choice of suppliers for the packaging of our products. PE bags are made from at least 70% recycled plastic, and we can go up to 100% upon customer request. We use shrink films to wrap pallets of shipped goods, which are certified to offset carbon dioxide emitted during production, packaging and transportation. The certification of the shrink films we consume is guaranteed by the Carbon Footprint through the VERRA standard, with 4.98 tons of CO2 offset in 2023.
Last but not least, we have activated production processes that involve the continuous reuse of recycled boxes for internal material handling as well as the purchase of used wooden pallets, which are used for both internal handling and shipping.
Searching for Green Solutions
We are constantly looking for green solutions and suppliers to bring us ever closer to a near-zero emissions company. We are developing new products that will reduce water waste in processes and optimizing production processes to drastically reduce technical waste. In addition, we are looking for new paperboard suppliers who will ensure that our products are completely made from recycled materials.
